The good news: V8 Camaro 1989

About a week ago out cruising on the weekend a CamaroV8 appx 1989 or so..was making snide remarks about Mustangs, which I pretended to not hear, right before the light turned green I look over and he wanted the race to begin, he hit it 1st, so reved and floored as well- even with his car length advantage (from a quick start) I took him by a couple lengths to 65 MPH, then got the finger as he was mad a drove off...lol

The Bad: 2004 BMW 330Ci

My friend went and bought a new BMW coupe and I have yet to hear the end of it, 40k+ yada yada yada a rich Kids car etc... So I made the mistake of telling him he would be eating Mustang brake lights...lol

Big mistake !, I am not sure if they have different gearing or what ? but he pulls in every gear (slightly) but not by much ?? after several races and trials - he just has a very slight edge...WTF ?? ok so 260 HP vs 225 HP I should have the edge ?, this is my friend and I KNOW he pulls, its not the driving..we did 20-60, 5-80, 0-100...This one pisses me off the most, cause I shoulda kept my chops shut.....Oh well.

Those cars are nice, but you shouldn't have a problem with them.  Do you shift at low rpm's or something?  Have you ever raced before those races?

Honestly-

I think I have a lemon & will trade it in maybe on the new model when it shows, something aint right..I have had some trouble with a few things, but the Tech's say the motor checks out, I have had it in twice. Other GT's seem to have more power...so I will get over it eventually, but still PO'd. I was think of having it dyno's ?? I wouldnt know what to look for, but there is a few local dyno shops...Good Idea ??

Even If I take a loss, I will just write it off to bad luck & my next one will be Cobra level or better - no doubt.

You must have a lemon, check out the site above.  Its not exactly what you were talking about, but even this car does 0-60 in a slow 6.4 seconds...

Well, I have seen the gt advertised on generic sites as high as 6, but they will do 5.5-5.9 stock.   I have about 35-40 more horses to the ground than stock, and with a buddy timing me from 0-60 with him in the car, I do a 5 flat everytime, and even did a 4.9 on a cool day with not much humidity. This isn't perfectly accurate, but damned close.  I live in florida, so the heat can really bog a car down in this part of the country.

Exactly !

Thats awsome !, There is something bogging my car down...yes I aint the best driver, but its mechanical & I will get to the bottom of this mess..I am happy for you and would trade you places in a sec.

I am thinking of taking it to a "non-dealer" just for an assesment or dyno.

And you are in New York, it should run great in that weather.  I can't think of much that would be holding your car back.  Is it 5 speed or auto?  When trying to burn out or take off hard, do you take your traction control off?

Hopefully someday I can get my Cobra out of this Colorado air and back to sea level. Drove my friends in Maryland. BIG difference...would be lucky to hit high 13's in this State. Will find out in the spring though.

Try towing a 7000 pound load at that elevation in a truck that was tuned at sea level (carb). It blew. Perhaps I got a tank of bad gas, but I had to use 4-low to get out of the parking lot.

Is your Gt manual? (sorry if you've already posted this answer; I didn't really read thoroughly)

You should also dyno you car to see where you're at....If it's a manual then you should not have any problems taking those specific Beamers.  I eat them when ever they get cocky... which is often! ..lol.. Who's your daddy richey rich?

I don't really understand, those beamers are not that quick.  The mustang should eat the beamer with 200 pounds of lead in the trunk honestly..

He must have raced an 89 RS (180hp). An 89 L98 350 Iroc-z would have waxed him if he's running poor.
