Default would I win or no? do I have a chance?

I'm racing a 2002 GT with cold air intake and an o/r x-pipe magna flow cat back... Against a fully restored '69 camaro ss... it runs 13.98 in the 1/4, and I'm also racing a fox body mustang GT supercharger. I have no idea what that runs.. but those two guys raced ones and they were about even (it was a street race)... Well May 30th is the High School Drags.. and I wanna know if I stand a chance against these guys? Thanks a ton.

hmmm well the Mustang GT e/t is about 14-14.5 but only the car and driver guys can get it to 14 sec. With those mods, if he knows how to drive the car i say like a 14.3 around there so im guessing you should be able to take him. It depends if you are going from a roll or a dig. From a dig i think that he might take you but im not sure. I also got another question. How does a fox body GT (5.0 im assuming) with a supercharger stay even with a 02 GT. Maybe he doesnt know how to handel the power. Either way let us know how you do. I'm curious on what happens cause a friend of mine has a Camero of about the same year. Anyways good luck.

I think you mean even with a '69 camaro? But yeah I dunno, we're all in high school so maybe they dont know how to drive. But yeah the high school drags is at a speedway, so its from a dig. I'm actually confused on who actually won this race... cus all I heard is that the foxbody had a head start, and the camaro caught up and remained a car length behind.. so I dunno. A stock 02 GT is supposed to run 14.5 - but with mods, it should make it faster. But then again, I live in colorado. Less air, slower times - I guess we'll see May 30!

Yeah im sorry about that dude i did mean the '69 camaro. But let me clear something about high school drags. They do a bracket racing in which the cars give in their dial in times and whoever gets the closest to that time without beating it advances. Thats how whichever car won.

Year 2002 Base Price $28 645
Make Ford Production USA
Model Mustang GT Convertible Airbags Driver, Psngr.

Performance Specifications:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top Speed 225.3 kph / 140.0 mp 0-¼ mile 14.5 seconds
Lateral Acceleration 0.83g 0-60 mph 5.9 seconds
EPA City/highway 17 / 24 mpg 0-100 mph 15.0 seconds

SEE FOR YOURSELF: http://www.allcars.org/car.html?id=1

But yeah, I know about bracket racing. I'm gonna practice at an abandoned road a little east to get accurate at my times and launch. But just out of curiosity, In a regular race I was wondering if I would win. I just can't wait mostly cus theres gonna be like a billion hondas with their stickers and muffler tips. Yeah it's bracket racing, so they have a chance. But cmon.. they're probly like 19 second cars. The 02 GT I'm racing is a stick.

And how much does it cost for the gears? If it's within price range, I might go for it.
