LOL. Watch the Cobra in the start of the film its Grey then later on its shows a drak color one. Then during the race Look at the RPMs on the dash of the Cobra.. 4,000 rpms LOL wonder what gear he was using 6th? I know EVOs can be made fast etc heck even my lawn mower can with enough money but the point is this to much fishy stuff with that EVO and the films. I mean if im wrong im wrong , but cant help point out the strange stuff.

Did you even watch the vidoe? The camaro was pulling on him, but not by alot, and he had a 300 SHOT, if he didnt spray, the evo would of had him indefinately, even if the evo didnt spray and it was motor for motor, without that 300 shot, that thing woulda been nothing

I guess you forget all about the stroker motor in the EVO (which adds displacement btw, which again, "no replacement for displacement), the 35psi of boost (which is insane), plus a 55 shot running straight to the intercooler which is adding over double the jet size.

The car is obviously setup to run nitrous. Why wouldn't he spray??
BTW, with the slicks the camaro was running he would have ran away from em from a stop. Don't think for a minute that the AWD woulda had a chance against that camaro. Easily would have picked the front tires off the ground a few feet.

Thats it. You know, I was going to let go with the whole "he would have lost if he didnt spray" thing, but now you officially dont know anything. And, I mean that. I have a 2.4 in my talon...and that extra .4L makes a BIG difference. But you wouldnt know anything about that would you...oh wait. I actually built my motor with my hands. I obviosly know absolutely nothing. This is like trying to explain it to Paul Walker.
And as far as Nitrous goes, you would call it NOS. That Camaro most likely set up his motor for the spray. Plus, trying to beat a fast turbo car from a roll, kind of hard to do. I'll bet you anything, that if that camaro didnt spray and raced that EVO from a stop. It would still take the EVO a long time to catch up...I would know...I have a 2.4, and 60-1 on my Talon....hmmm

I keed I keed, Obviously both cars were moving. Fast is fast. With the tires that baby was sporting going from a stop wouldn't have changed that outcome at all. Well, unless they were racing on a dirt road or something :) Obviously the car was setup for nitrous so saying he would of lost if he didn't spray is a stupid point. The evo was setup up for high boost, what if he wasn't running 30+ psi? Its just as stupid as somebody w/ an aluminum block V-8 saying "well put 35 psi on my engine and it will be faster". Good luck w/ that, apples to oranges.
The stroked 2.3 isn't really to add power persay as much as it is to get a stocklike spool on that motor w/ a huge turbo. The fastest guys still run 2.0L. The ability to rev higher and get the most out of your large turbo up top is the reason why stock displacement is where the fastest guys are at. A 2.3/2.4 is great for a street car though.

I agree with everything except for this. It does add power, but more torque is noticed than power. When I did my 2.4, my whp stayed pretty much the same, and I gained almost 100ft/lbs. of torque with the stock turbo. When I put on the 60-1, I get to full boost around 3700rpms....with a stock head, cams, valves, etc. Dont get me wrong, this whole debate with this guy is stupid. I just thought it was funny when he said that .3L difference in displacement doesnt do anything.
Yeah, the fastest DSM guys have 2.0's, and they have to run a big shot to spool up fast enough, and they want really high rpms. Ex. Sean Glazer - 8.68 et. John Shepherd - 8.71 et. Brent Rau - 7's
