I am getting ready to do the system in my 65 coupe and I was looking for some ideas on how to do it. Here is what I am putting in:
Head Unit: Alpine IDA-X001
Front Speakers: Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 6 1/2" Components
Rear Speakers: Infinity 693.9i 6x9's
Subs: (2) Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 12" Subs
Amp for speakers: Infinity 7541A 4-channel
Amps for subs: (2) Infinity 611A Mono
I currently have the head unit, rear speakers, and amp for speakers hooked up so I can at least have a little music going down the road. Can anyone show me some pictures of how they installed their front speakers, subs, and amps? Thanks!
The majority of that equipment can be greatly outperformed for the money.
I would suggest getting completely different equipment for what you have left to buy.
I'll snap some pictures of my kicks, HU and amp setup when I get home this afternoon.
Fiberglassing your own kicks is the way to go if you want high quality audio in a classic stang. My car is still being heavily worked but I put a little bumb in it for driving around until I start body work.
I agree I could get better stuff, but I paid nowhere near retail price for all of my equipment. For my ears and listening habits my equipment will be mor than adequate.
I would love to see how you made your kicks. I am wanting to make my own, but not sure how I want to do it or where I should start. I am also looking for ideas on the sub/amp setup in the trunk so I would like to see how you did yours. Thanks!
I have a 140 amp powermaster alt in the car right now. I do have a/c (vintage air), but with the 140 amp alt, I'm not worried. If you have pics of the completed kicks, it should give me a good idea. Thanks!
Yes, I have the equipment already. I bought the amps when they went on clearance for dirt cheap. The rest I bought off of ebay for dirt cheap and the subs I bought from Crutchfield when they were buy one get one free. Overall, I didn't spend a whole lot of money for the system.
Can you post some pics of what your system looks like installed? Thanks!
