as I said in my outher post, I ran my best of 13.78 last night. Three out of four runs I was next to a guy running a z24,he had nitto drag radials on front,a chip and exhaust. I got paired up with him on my last run and he told my he was running A 100 shot. ON A Z24 needless to say I ran 14.00 AND he run a 13.33 wholey s--- wonder how long that motor wil last
Well since he is in front of you atleast you will have the best seat in the house when that thing blows 13.33 is damn fast for a cavalier 100 shot or not.
I saw a yellow cavalier take out a TA once. My friend was riding with me and we had to ask each other if what we just saw really happened, it was funny.
Did this happen at Cecil County Dragway? Was it a red 3rd gen? If so, It's not chipped (can't chip an OBD2, and there is no tuning software for OBD2 Cavaliers yet :( ) And they were BFG drag radials, not Nitto's. But the rest of the story sounds about right, with a 13.303 or a 13.554, depending on which mustang you were driving, I only raced 2 that night. And for those of you who hate Cavaliers, sorry, it's what I can afford, and I only have a couple bucks into it to run those times. And the little 2.4 twin cam IS a stout little motor. I've put about 20 bottles of spray through it in the last 2.5 years, and it still runs like the day I bought it. Sorry I can't afford a "real" car like your SS, Reaper, or a f&f wannabe car like a 2000Si. I guess I'll just have to be happy suprising people with my little sleeper Z24.
13.303 @ 103.57 MPH with BFG Dr's, exhaust cutout, Spec Clutch, and 100 shot. (yep, that's it)
Oh, I just noticed, 33 boggers, you have 5.0 in your sig. If you are who I'm thinking of (maroon 5.0 @ Cecil) I just wanted to give you props for getting that 13.7. That's a hot time for a mostly stock 5.0, keep up the good work!

wow, 2000si, you really hurt my feelings, cause the only reason I came here was to gain your respect. I guess I messed up huh?
Seriously, most everyone I know talks trash about Cavaliers, but they are also the people who underestimate them. Just like tightdogal, some have been suprised. And with a best time of 10.2 in the 1/8th, I would have kept beating him even when I was stock if he DID try. ( I ran 9.8's and 9.9's in the 1/8th stock) I'm not at all suprised how poorly I'm being recieved here, and it's kind of sad to think that even seeing it with your own eyes will not give any of you at least some kind of new outlook on Chevy's little Z24. They are actually great cars, if you can ignore cheap plastic interiors. I still get 27 MPG and drive it everyday and get to make alot of peoples faces distort trying to figure out how they just got wasted by a little red economy car.
So go ahead and continue crapping all over this thread, but please, no more comments like racer02GTstang unless you got the schwup to back it up.
My apologies to tightdogal for mixing up the sig reference. Racer02GTstang should be very proud of his 10.2 second 1/8th mile that might actually beat a base model 2.2 ohv Cavalier.
