Alright guys... I am posting this up for a buddy of mine... here is his ride:



2004 Termy, 5 Speed, stock except for a C&L intake, and Bassani x-pipe, and magnaflow mufflers.

He bought the car, as it sits right now... the check engine light pops on. So, me being the good friend that I am, I throw my SCT X-Cal2 tuner on the computer, to pull the codes. Here is what comes up:

P0122: Thr Pos Lo In Vlt (throttle position low input voltage). Tested the stock throttle sensor, nothing. So, we replaced the sensor with a brand new one from Ford. Cleared the ECU of all codes.

Installed everything correctly, and even clocked the sensor according to my Ford service manual. No problem.

Until today... the ECU is throwing that same P0122 code. Any guesses as to why? Perhaps the sensor we got from Ford is FUBAR'd? Could we still have clocked the sensor itself incorrectly?

And it's also throwing up a P1000 code as well... which, I am assuming, is in relation to the P0122. According to some other forums I have read, a P1000 is Ford's tattle-tale that you have reset the ECU codes, and can be self-reset after a full drive cycle... so I don't forsee that code being a problem child.

Any help/ideas/suggestions/solutions?

There is no "clocking" on the TPS sensor. It's just a bolt on sensor. The 5.0's you can clock but not the modulars. Whenerver you install a new TPS sensor, you should unhook the battery to reset the ecu. When you start it, you must go through the standard idle learning curves so it can teach itself. It may take a few drives or key cycles but that code if still present should go away!
