Default My 2007 GT vs 1987 Corvette

My buddy at work has an uncle that lets him drive his 1987 Corvette....if we were to race would I kick his ass, just barley beat him or get my ass kicked? I don't know anything about corvettes and I just got my car so I am not sure of what it can do yet...

Both cars are stock......how would a 0 - 60 turn out? and what about some sort of a roll from 70 MPH > till whatever like 100 or 110 MPH?

You would win, those corvette weren't very fast at all like mid 14's in the 1/4 compared to your mid 13's

87 Vette is a C4 platform[:'(].
Can you say POS?

Thanks for C5 and up to reset the clock a bit and gain some due respect[8D].

A S197 will take it no problem.

it's gonna be closer than these people are saying. they have 345 lb-ft at 3000 rpm, so if he can hook up, he'll murder you out of the hole. you might lose a 0-60 and win the higher roll. mid-to-low 14's versus low-14 to high 13's car is not a blowout.

and then you have the fact that it's a 21 year old car and it might be ready to fall apart.

Its hard to say, all the c4's I have seen at the track here were much slower than the s197's I have seen

they also have alot less hp than a s197 though, torque will only take you so far

I think '87 was the first year Chevy went away from the dreaded crossfire injection. It will be a close race!

I guess if consider close to be a mid 13 car (Mustang) to a mid/low 14 car (Vette).
