Default tranny ???????

does anyone know if an AOD tranny from an 86 cougar 5.0 directly swap into a 89 4 cyl lx??and what may need to happen for this to work?

Like answered before, no.

You'll need a custom flex plate, or converter, driveshaft, and a plate to get the 2.3 to the 5.0 bolt pattern, and also the gears in the transmission aren't good for the 2.3 so it will be even more slow.
