Default car threw the P0190 code

Anyone else have this happen? It is code P0190 Fuel Rail Pressure Regulator Sensor Circuit Malfunciton

I think the car just needs a new fuel pressure regulation sensor, but if anyone else has had this code and fixed it, please let me know what all was done.

when it gets hot enough outside after last friday, the car start to putter out like it isn't getting enough fuel. It will throw this code immediately after it starts to try and die. Thanks again for any help

Hey man, thats a $70 piece of plastic i really don't feel like buying. Was just making sure it wasn't something ridiculously simple i didn't even think of before i went off to Schucks and bought everything i could get my hands on. So that better not be sarcasm up there.

It wasnt...a lotta times the codes are vuage and dont tell you what the problem is. Thats when you end up running out and throwing away money trying to fix things. With this code telling you exactly whats malfunctioning and your car not getting enough fuel the pressure regulator would be the logical place to start

WHich is exactly what i was getting at. Went to a friendsshop and ran some tests on the car, and(with the assistance of the ever awesome Justin Starkey) came to the conclusion that the extreme heat of the iron V6 paired with the 100+ degree weather in Idaho killed the actual fuel rail sensor. Pressure built inside the fuel rails from the heat, the broken sensor didn't properly relay information back to the ecu/pcm and in an attempt to save the motor, would lean the fuel out to the point where the engine couldn't run. So i bought another sensor, hopefully it is actually whats wrong, and my flash tuner isn't to blame.

Check the vaccum line going to it - could be loose or leaking.

^Already checked all connections and fittings before running fuel pressure tests, ground tests, intake vacuum test, tested voltage drop, etc. The new sensor is on and hopefully what was wrong.
