Greetings to the list! I have just begun restoration of my wife's '67 coupe with a 2v 289, 200hp. The intent is to restore, in general, the car to factory specs as far as looks and interior go. We do intend to deviate from the VIN with respect to the engine, trans, differential, brakes, etc. To make a long story short (somewhat), I'd like to beef up the engine to the optionale 271hp version, do what I need to in order to match up the C6 trans and 2.25 differential, etc. Later on, we'll look at a disc brake conversion, std trans. Right now, I'm interested in any books that would be good referemce material for the project - in and out - I'm no novice to 289 drive trains, but interiors and trim sometime throw me. Also, it would be nice if I could find some sort of comparison chart that compared the 289 2V/200hp against the same engine but 4V/271hp....a chart that gives the difference in piston diameters, valve sizes, valve spring specs, torque converter differences, available rear end options for the 271hp version, etc..........in other words, I'd like a list of what I need to change out in order to convert this 2V, 200hp engine into the 4V, 271hp version! (yeah, I know I need a 4bbl carb...thinking of a 650 Holley. Thanks to the list - I'm sure I'll have more questions as time goes along. Clif - ****ewood, TX
