Default Me myself and car

Well, I came to this forum out of frustration. I have a 1988 5.0 LX White with a very scary red interior. I picked the car up off of Craigslist for $800.00. It was a joy to find the car and be able to get it (really a dream come true). I am not mechanically inclined so I have come to allow others to work on my vehicle and it has been a horror story ever since. People just don't care about your things like you do, so I am going to do everything from this point forward myself, that way I have no one else to blame. I just installed headers and an air intake and when the install was done it kept backfiring. I asked the installer why it was backfiring and he had no answer as to why, so I attempted to drive it home and within less then a mile I turned into another shop, because it was not driveable. I shook when it went into higher gears so I knew I would not be able to drive it home. So there it sits and here I am totally frustrated.

other mods are
H pipe , flowmaster exhaust 2.5 out the back 17x9.5in wheels 275/40-17rears 245/40-17fronts

You most likely have a gasket leak at the header flange.

But, that would make a good donor www.factoryfive.com
