Ok, so I'm new here, and I have a question. I looked and looked and searched and searched, so if this has been asked before, I'm sorry. I tried.
Anyways, I have a 05 mustang with the stock 16 inch rims, and they're UGLY. I found some Bullitt Rims on Craigslist for $400 and picked them up, thinking they would fit. They do "fit," but I can't get them to sit flush. They don't sit flat, they wobble, like they don't want to go all the way on. If I bolt them on anyway, they're dangerously crooked.
I was told that they are off of an 06 GT, but the guy might have been lying. There's a chance that they're from a 99-04.
They're not knockoffs, they say "Ford" on the back.
One person told me I needed spacers, but when I went to buy the spacers, they told me that they didn't think spacers would help.
So I guess I have three questions:
1. How can I tell if they are bullitt rims off an 99-04 or off a 05+ GT?
2. If they are off a 99-04, that means that they aren't fitting because of the offset, right?
3. If it IS because of the offset, is there anything I can modify or do or buy to make them fit, or am I out of luck?
Any help would be amazing. Thanks guys.

RE: Bullitt Rims not fitting my 05 V6 Stang. Help!
After my initial ....toconcur with my colleague, mynext guess is incorrect bolt-pattern (I have about 382 second guesses). Go ***HERE** and do some measuring and see what you have there and get back to us.
RE: Bullitt Rims not fitting my 05 V6 Stang. Help!
First off, I have an 05 with those 16" wheels. YES, they are UGLY. I have the tri bar knock off center caps which make them even uglier!!!!! So here is where I am at; I've got a set of 18 x 8.5's silver bullits just sitting in my front room (I like to look at them[8D]). I'v been told that I "MIGHT" have mounting problems so I've been checking into it. Ifyour rims go on most of the way, the bolt pattern is probably correct, so they must be hitting something. Is it the front or the rear? I hope not both or you are in trouble. Two things I can think of; If it is the front, they might be hitting the brake caliper. If so, easy fix with GT caliper brackets and rotors. Go to the 4.0 section, a great write up by Jimc with photos. The only other thing that I can think of is; There is this stupid little clip that is meant to hold on the rotor during production. Its on a couple of the studs, a little circle thingie, just take them off and throw them away. They just hold the rotor on as it goes down the line. Stock rims have a "cutout" around the back of the stud holes to make them fit. If you don't have the "cutout" there probably not 05+ rims (or not stockers). Again, look back through the 4.0 threads, you'll find a thread on it. Good luck, and LET ME KNOW HOW IT WORKS OUT (pm me if you want). But your in good hands with Jazzer the cat. I've never dealt with him personaly but, I've read his stuff and he's amazing. He's like the tire and wheel Guru or something.

I think the OP is a spammer. Seen this post already with an odd reply by another new member that joined the same day. From another forum. Thats why I did not bother to reply

Anybody have any tips or ideas? Anyone had a similar issue? Any help would be awesome.
