Default cover over intake

I found this picture on another site and it shows a cover over the intake of the 05 gt's, but I looked at about 6 gt's including mine and they don't have it. did ford just decide not to put it on the 05's?

mine doesn't have it. It looks cool, but it still looks good without it, so I'm not bothered

Search the threads...

There are a couple of aftermarket people making those and they are available NOW. Somebody posted about them in here!

These are the guys selling them Midwest Auto Gear
Their original cover was fiberglass. They are about to release an injection mold version. They also sell on fleabay, but they go for quite a bit more there than they do on their web site. Mustang Source put together a group buy on them and about 70 folks jumped on board. They have several threads over there on the different colors they got and the way that they customized them after the fact.

The original cover was a pre-production item. Gues they wanted to reduce costs. But here is a link to the one you mentioned earlier. Also, BBK is making one (Machined Aluminium) for around $199.

thanks for the info guys, I might buy one later on, it's just that ford should have made and installed them on all 05 gt's. I guess it was a way for them to save on production cost.

The thing that AMAZES me is..

Ford cut that out to save cost...

THEN - - Ford Marketing guys were too STUPID to put it on the Options or Accessories List!

You just HAVE to LOVE Corporate Marketing guys... All they ever really think of is Baseball Hats, T-Shirts and Floor Mats.

Everybody knows there is more profit in the "Add-Ons" then there is the main product!

You said that right, I can hear that meeting now (job #1 fellows is get those watches and floor mats out so we can report a profit not a loss for this fiscal quarter). which I think you should get free for just buying the car and customer relations.
