Sitting at a light and a older guy (older than me and I'm 35) pulls up in a 99+ Regal GS, you know the ones that are 3.8l and blown, same as a GTP, didn't think he was gonna go cuz we only had like 400 feet before a busy intersection. He jumped on it, sodo I figured what the hell, ended up with a nice 2nd gear chirp and wooped his but good, didn't really want to pound onthe car yet cuz it only has 200 miles on it, but I couldn't resist, wish we had more room.

More room for what, making an ass out of him, and wasting fuel? Good kill I guess, but not really any challange, am I wrong?

People seriously underestimate that 3.8L.
In stock form it makes nearly as much power (more hp, less torque) than the 302. Couple that with more weight on top of the driven wheels (better traction) and they're not all that bad. Getting more power out of them is easy, just like any other forced induction car - simple pulley swap and possibly some fuel tweaks.

IMO, they are fairly weak. I had a 94 ranger with a 4.0 liter, and I killedone of those blown 3.8's. He got me after 110, but thats when I shut off in that truck.</P>
IMHO I don't think he was WOT. I ran one with a buddy and my gf in the car, the S/C'ed Buick that is, and it was decently fast. I think that he would have OWNED you in the Ranger. Seemed faster than my Maxima, but I did have 3 ppl in the car. This was someone my age driving, must have been dad, or grandads car.
i hear the main restriction on those is the exhaust manifolds. replacing that and a pully can put down some pretty sick numbers...if you can get over the front wheel drive and blandness of the automatic <edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37955.0055324074</editDate></edited>
I had a N/A GP and I'm here to tell ya, they do not get traction, even with the n/a 3.8. And yes you can make a lot of power with them but stock the blown 3.8 in the GTP/Regal arelow 15 second cars on a good day. Takes a ton of cash to get them into the 13's also. I still subscribe to a gp forum and there are some fast cars there, a lot in the the 12's, one or 2 on the 10's i think. Fastest na car is in the high 13's I think but as I said it take a lot of $$$ to get them there.

hey, sorry about that, I'm thinking of another supercharged v6. This wasn't a Buick, but can't think of the name of the car right now. </P>
