Default newb question

I was looking at the slp loudmouth 1 exhaust system and really like it. Instead of spending over $400 right now, can you just buy the slp shotgun style resonators and install them in place of the stock mufflers? would it sound the same as the whole system?

Also, if you're looking for performance, the advantage of the catback is that the stock exhaust system is only 2 1/4" piping, most aftermarket catbacks and midpipes are going to be 2 1/2".
