ok, so i went to finish up the deal in the blk/gry gt500 and this is what they told me they were going to give me for my 2 trade in vehicles.
2004 ford lightning, 48k miles, very clean condition, all options $17000
2007 shelby gt, 5k miles, almost perfect condition, prem package $25000, (they said it books for 18, and there giving $7k for shebly name
now this leaves me with a pretty big down payment needed as i will be upside down and payments over a grand a month, which is fine, i can do that. what i wanna know is do those numbers look accurate to you? i know there is kelly blue book and nada, but i would like opinions from people, not just books. thanks everyone!

Well, it is a joke!! You are losing big on the Shelby gt!! What did you pay.........Here in Canada the GT500 starts at $56,939.00 and the black book used car value on a 2007 with less than 5000k on it is worth $25,000.00 - $33,600.00 now!!

i say you are the crazy one for trying to trade in either of those vehicles...you have an end of the run lightening with low mileage that is worth d1ck to the dealership but would be worth so much more to an individual...same with the shelby. i would sell them privately even if it takes a little longer to get rid of them..the dealership will most likely turn around and sell both of those vehicles in excess of $5000/each over what they are offering you
it's not like you are stuck driving a crappy car till you get the GT500, you have a shelby GT and a lightening for christ's sake...enjoy them, right up until you get the GT500 of course

That sounds like a very wise move!! I would agree with that logic!!

Well said, unless you are in some kind of a rush. But, with the question asked about the values, looks like you want to get this done quick. If you can afford the loss, and the hit wont emotionally hurt you and take away from the pleasure of the new car, then go for it. More sensible thing to do is privately sell it and get more. But who here on these forums are that sensible. I probably confused the $hit out of youand I know this because Im thinking to myself what I would really do.

I wouldn't trade the Shelby GT in on anything. Save your money and send it back to Shelby, add the SC, upgrade the brakes and It'll run with any GT500. If you really want a GT500, wait a few years. There's going to be lots and lots of them made. Carroll just signed on with Ford for six more years. If you go for the dealers offer, your going to walk away from 10 grand. Put that into the Shelby GT and keep your Lightening.

Nothing's for sure, but it looks like the GT500 will continue for a few more years. My guess is they will continue to build them in fewer numbers because of the cafe standards.
To be honest both of those numbes are accurate. They are slightly low ball and the dealer commes off retarded and ignorant by saying 7k for the shelby name. The shelby has SIGNIFICANT changes done to it besides the exterior dress up and the plaque. It's a lot more than a name.
You should be paying 1k to 4k in price difference for this trade, if it's anything more you can easily find a better deal by going to people here to get help.

thanks for the advice. think im just going to keep them, the down payment they wanted in addition to the carswas beyond crazy. i am about 7 hours from vegas, maybe over a long weekend or something i will go up there and get some stuff done, for a quarter of the price they want as a down payment. i keep hearing that the s/c 4.6 will keep up to the gt500, plus i get to keep my vin and cheap insurence. thanks guys
