Default Code reader (obd probs)

For any of those of you who have done a computer code check on your SVO can you let me know what did you use. I have an obdI code reader and was trying to check for any codes on the car but i didnt find the eec plug that would fit on the obdI. i noticed that the one on the car has the brouche for 4pins in a straight line and the separate brouche that clips on to the other end of the obdI. now my question is do i need an adapter that goes from the car to the obdI to check for codes? because I have done this before on my other mustangs and they all have the correct port. if any of you have done this before can you please help me out. i appreciate any advice or help i get. Thanks.

I have an obd1 scanner I bought from autozone. Ive used it often and its not really too hard. Just hook it up to the harness which is located under the hood by the ignition coil by the washer fluid tank. Mine didnt require a special adapter. It just hooks up do the key on engine off test, then engine on test and it spit out the codes.

No that's not the one I have. I have this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...ayphotohosting
which is practically the same thing since the plugs are the same. But it does not plug in right on my car. Any ideas?

It looks like it should fit, I see the larger plug in on the right side, then the separate plug in on the left. Are you sure it doesnt fit? Did you find the female plug in under the hood? It may be the wrong one for the svo, but I dont see why it shouldnt fit.
