Default 2008 GT/CS will not burn rubber from a dead.

Just got it, have 8000 miles. It's a auto. Even with Traction control off. I know it's been hot here, 108 today, and was at some altitude this weekend when I bought it. I've never had a vehicle I couldn't even chirp the tires from a dead. Runs strong from a roll, but seems to take awhile to get going.

Do these cars need ahigh stall torque converters to launch?

Putting on Borla cat-back and Airaid in a couple of days.

you should not have any issues at all spinning the tires in a 05+ GT...if not something is wrong.

The catback won't add any power and the stand-alone CAI won't do much in the way of seat-of-the-pants w/o a tune.

Heat soak seems to be your problem. Also, when Iput some decent "meat" on my Stang over the OEM BFG's, my hook-up was so good it was tough to spin.

Since you're an auto, the CAI & tune combo would work wonders. I'd give that plus some night time runs a try.

+1 onheat soak.
Not onlydoes the ECM cut back on the fuelflow when the engine is sucking in less densehot air, but it also pulls timing to prevent detonation. And both of these reduce the engine's power output.

What size and type of tires do you have in the rear? Have you reset the ecu? Are you getting full throttle?

I have an 08 GT/CS auto and have the same problem he's talking about. Once I get into the 3k range, the thing is a bullet, but I am almost sure a Honda would take me off a stop (embarrased to say this). I also live in a very hot place where the daily temperatures get to 103 F (up to 114F heat index). I am running a C&L CAI with a 93 Performance tune and have also tried the 93 Torque tune (both from BAMA). My v6 camaro feels quickier off the line! Could it be something to do with the tune? (I already have 3.73s waiting to be installed and will hopefully eliminate this problem that frustrates me!)

I have and 06 auto vert, even with 3.73 gears/C&L, and Bama 93 tuneit still feels a little sluggish off the line. But once I hit 3K, look out it's a beast.

When my GT was stock, even on 20's with 285's, I could spin the tires. It seems like something may be wrong, but, I don't want to make an assumption that I am not 100 % sure of. Gears should wake it up a lot.

Try turning TCS off and dropping it into 1st gear (instead of "D") then just whomp on it from a dead stop. Works for me everytime. If you wait until redline to push into2nd you'll get a chirp into 2nd. I've gotten third once but it's hard to do on Automatics. 3.55 or 3.73 would be even better. The Auto's have an overall taller gearing I believe than manuals so it makes some things harder.

Oh almost forgot, turn the O/D OFF otherwise the tranny will want to shift to a higher gear sooner. (If you leave it on "D") If you drop to "1" and go through the gears "manually" it won't matter.
