Default Cobra engine swap

Came up on a small amount of G's I need to spend on my car and was just curious, for future use or possibly not, what (if possible) I would need to make a 03-04 cobra engine swap into my 02 saleen, as well as the rear end upgrades and all so I don't go snapping anything haha. Really interested to see the parts/prices I would be dealing with when all said and done.

I have seen some Saleen Cobras and was pretty certain the swap isn't that big of a deal in terms of just dropping in the engine, for the most part, but I would like the rear end to be built like a cobra's so I don't have to say bye bye to the baby just yet lol.

Theoretically, to put it simple since I appear to be rambling, I'd like an 03/04 supercharged cobra in my saleen haha.
Hopefully all you bright minds might be able to shed some light to help out

This is my black mamba here ...

You've got it switched around. If you want the abilities/capabilities of a Cobra, you need to get a Cobra and throw on a Saleen body kit on it. Much easier/cheaper.

I agree. Why not just trade your Saleen for a Cobra?

I agree with '05 here. I looked into this myself a while back, and fitting the engine is not a big deal. Getting all the computers, wiring to talk to each other and be 'turn-key', is another story all together.

Get a Cobra and put a kit on it, FAR, FAR easier and less expensive.

Thanks for your guys' input. I guess I never really thought about it too much that way, I've always been attached to Saleens. I owned a 98 before this one and am more than content with mine... but have always been attracted to the "beast-iness" of the 03/04's.

Greatly appreciated.

Or if you wanted to stay attached to Saleens, you could always drop around $40k on an authentic Saleen Cobra.

Swanson Performance in Torrance, CA has done exactly this. They specialize in Mustang mods. I was in their shop last year getting some dyno runs and they had a '99-'04 Saleen into which they were dropping a Cobra engine. It is not cheap.

Well hot damn. Alright, I'll just have to give up on that idea then.

Thanks for the input!

Well for just under $3k you can get a forged 03-04 Cobra shortblock from MMR. Don't know if you want to go that route or not.
