Default SCT X3 or SF3???

Okay, here is the down and dirty on my personal experience with the SCT handheld. I purchased aCAI with the SCT X3 tuner or at least this is what I expected to get when I ordered from JLT. When the package showed up, it came with the SCT SF3.At first, I did not realize the tuner was not the X3 because I was excited about getting the CAI installed(looks kick a** and works great). The SF3 user guide is the same as the X3 and has the same options as the X3 from what I could tell.Since I have plans to continue mods on my 07, I set out to find out the difference in the two tuners(I wanted the X3 for the 3 custom tune options). THEWEB AND FORUMS HAVE VERY LITTLE TO NOTHING AT ALL ON THIS SUBJECT![:@] I emailed JLT about an exchange, and they responded by saying the SF3 has the same custom tune options as the X3. Since, I have found several retailers that advertise theSF3 as having the3 custom tune options.

With this said, I ask my fellow forum surfers to speak up on your experience and any insight on the above. If both tuners do the same, why don't they just merge them into one tuner?Iplan to email SCT soon to get some answers, but I wanted to make apost on the subjectsince there is very little information online.

I thought the difference was that the X3 is for custom tuners, but the SF3 has canned tunes on it. But the SF3 can also accept custom tunes. I don't think there is any significant difference.

I tried calling....put on hold. The SCT website has the instructions for receiving custom tunes via email. The X3 and SF3 both accept up to 3 custom tunes according to the instructions. So WTF?? I guess they have two different models just to confuse the **** out of people!
