Default Why does this forum attract stupid people?

So... what is up with that? There seem to be FAR more stupid people here than smart people. And I am not just talking about the people who think Barak Obama is a terrorist, although that is a perfectly good example. I am talking straight-up don't know their own language stupid. And there are FAAAAAAR more stupid people here on this forum than I know or see in real life. There are also far more stupid people here on this forum than any other forum I frequent; military history forums, sports forums, and the like. Why is this?

Oh and by the by, I am DYING to see who here self-identifies as stupid by taking offense at this.

Dunno, I don't think I've ever read any of your posts. Do you know the difference between "their" and "there," or "to" and "too?" Or do you think that Barak Obama is a terrorist muslim? Or do you think that human beings have no impact on the globe? Any one of these could be used to figure it out.

idk about stupid at all...opinionated maybe, but not stupid...calling people stupid pretty much makes that person stupid. plus, you are in off topic, so it's free to type what you think...a lot of smart people have said and done "stupid" things, so idk what makes you so much better

Uh... no, calling someone stupid does NOT make you stupid. WTF kind of logic is THAT? Are you really not able to figure out smart and stupid?

And off topic means nothing. I frequent a few off topic forums, and none of them have any of the purebred idiots that you find here. Generally people have thought-out positions on the world, and usually have a basic understanding of world events to back it up. They are generally informed, and generally don't spout pure nonsense. And they usually know how to spell and write in English. But here... man, there are some pure idiots here.

And I have to admit, it is hard to ignore stupid. It just kills me, because I know stupid is screwing up our gene pool and making decisions that, if you pool enough stupid people together, will have an impact on MY life. And that drives me INSANE.

Your on to something Ashram...

I often wondered why this place was refered to "the idiots of OT".

A few posts later, my curiosity was cured, suspicions confirmed....

I do get quite a laugh out of this stuff though...

You know, I wonder if it is age. The median age here I think is FFFFFAAAAARRRR younger than any other forum I wander through... could it be that simple?
