i have a stock 1998 mustang gt and while drving on the highway today i wanted to see what the top speed was and at 120 the car seemed like it wanted to shut off i thought that it would have gone a little higher than that is there something wrong with the car or is that normal for a 1998 gt?
What do you mean "wanted to shut off"? Can you explain more in depth what happened at 120mph?

I hit the speed limiter in my old mustang which was a v6 and it hit the limit and backed down again but went back to the limit....but when i hit 120 in my gt the car felt like it was braking i felt like i lost all power.....i didnt think the gt had a speed limiter of 120

what can i do to get rid of that. ive seen many videos of gts going up to 150. is there something simple i can do or do i have to get an upgraded chip?
going across new mexico on i40 this spring, i brought my 99 up to 130 only for a short period of time. i have to disagree that all north american cars are governed at 120, cause i have been WAY over that in a few different cars, on the race course that is.
