I was wondering if anybody can tell me what Saleen did to the motor on a 89 Saleen. Horsepower? Thank you any info would be very helpful.

The standard Saleen in 1989 did not feature engine mods. The standard issue 1987-1993 Saleens were 5-Liter Mustangs that went to finishing school. 4wdb/5-lug, shocks/struts, springs, chassis bracing, upgraded seating, stereo, wheels, and functional styling.
The standard '89s featured the stock Ford air cleaner, intake, heads, headers, H-pipe, and cat-back system.
The first Saleen I looked at... as a customer... was 90-0127 in 1998. A completely stock vehicle, but I can still remember the salesman at the dealer the car was sitting at spouting how Saleens featured GT-40 heads, cam, and a chip. Oddly... the same thing happened went I went to look at a black '89 hatch a short time later.
Where I'm going with... the early Saleens are pretty simple cars. They had changes in content that added performance value to the old 5.0 LX. The later base Saleens, starting with the 1996 S-281 featured a cat-back, wires, and high flow air clearner. This is what adds to the confusion, I think.
If you're searching for a vehicle. Good luck! There's a nice supply of 1988s and 1989s, so don't rush into anything. If you have an '89, congrats! If this was just a side question or a fun fact... now you know.
