Default Will Mach system play CD-R's?

I burned a CD-R of my favorite tunes and tried playing it in my Mach 6-pack headunit, but it wouldn't accept the CD.. says something about a disk error...

Can the Mach 6-CD deck play CD-R's? Anyone have any luck with that?

OK well that's good to know. One thing I noticed the CD-R blank I tried to use is a bit thicker than a storebought music CD,, and maybe the player is just not liking it because it is too thick?

I'm using no-name generic cheapo CD-R's,, what type did you use, any particuar brand? I'll go grab some if they'll work.

i use the Fujifilm 80 minute Cd-R's i get at comp usa, cheap, and they work. If it still doesn't work try using a CD-RW. My Xbox wont accept CD-R's but it will accept CD-RW's

OH yea and make sure you can play the CD on like a home sterio to make sure its not just the burner or an error, etc.

OK I took my cheapie noname CD-R & it played in my home sterio no problem. One thing I noticed with it in the car, it seems the CD didn't even get fully sucked into the head unit (the cd slot never closed after loading it) that was why I wondered if the "thicker" CD-R just wasn't fitting in.. so scrap those CD's

I tried burning a Sony CD-Rw with the same stuff. That disk would NOT play in my home sterio, it says "bad disc" I guess the home system wasn't built to handle CD-Rw's. I tried it in the car anyway, and THAT CD did get fully loaded into the head unit. But after trying to play it a few times it finally complained about "bad disc" too.. dam!

I will go find some of those 80 minute Fujifilm CD-R's & give that a shot. Thanks for your help.

yea it sounds like the thickness. My dad's ford explorer has the same 6disk changer that we have, and he put in a cd that had a cover on it and it got jammed up and we had to take it apart. All because the paper cover added a little more thickness i guess.

That must be it because it happend to my brother once before when he had his mustang I just remembered and I think we figured out it was the thickness (cheap CD-R lol).
