RE: Car audio shops
I am an installer that became an installer because I worked with installers from Best Buy to Circuit City to Fry'sand I have to say that I have seen some pretty bad installs from all three companies because no one regulates them. The only thing these companies managers know about car audio is where it is in theirstore and if you had a complained about the car audio dept to them, they could care less. I just bought my 06 mustang gt and installed the same alarm and am currently adding the alpine ivad310, pxah510, and all the other things I got out of my f150. This alarm is not tricky to install exceptfor the factyou need a transponder and you need both keys to program the remote start. When I used to install these alarms professionally, I would take all day longto do it because the last thing I need is for a customer to come back complaining. I would tape all the wires including the valetbutton because when a thief looks under the dash, if they wanted to find your alarm, all they do is follow this wire or the ledback to the alarm brain. But ifall the wires are tapedjust like the OEM wires are, and if ranin crazy directions, most thieves give up and leave.
The one thing I can give you advise on is to make sure you get a lifetime warrantyon the alarm. That's one of the cool things about BestBuy and Circuit. The other is making sure the people that install the alarm are MECPcertified. That way you're also protectedby Directed. I could go on and on, but I see I already have. Sorry
