how close to invoice price
The best quote I have is $100.00 over dealer invoice to order the Mustang I want. What have others paid for their V6?

RE: how close to invoice price
I paid 20960 for mine and the window sticker price was 22115.
You might better find a better price. |

Mine was 24,500 sticker....That was the Premium, loaded, to include shaker 1000. I got them down to 21,800. Not the greatest in the world, but for here in DC it was pretty good.

RE: how close to invoice price
Goxley, me too. I worked on three different dealerships and couldn't get below sticker on a vert. The verts are in MUCH higher demand that the V6 coupes. Once I decided on what I was getting (black/ black/ red), I used forddirect.com to locate what I was looking for. The first two sold within 2 days of arriving on the lots (I tried dickering to get one below sticker and it sold out from under me). I bought the 3rd, it had been on the lot for 3 days. It had a tag next to the sticker that said "Market Adjustment- 3000.00". Yikes! At least I didn't have to pay the markup, they're making enough money just selling for sticker anyway. I'm sure the prices will come down in 6 months or so, but I have no regrets. Especially now that it appears Ford is dropping the crimson red upgrade. Verts rule :D By the way, in all my looking around I didn't see a single one in your nice color combo. I think that combo must be comparatively rare.

I know what you mean, Tres. Every sonic blue car I've seen has either black leather or gray cloth. Mine's the only one I've seen with the light parchment leather. I wish I could take credit for the combination, but I bought it out of the showroom. I originally ordered a silver GT coupe/red leather at the end of February. I found out 6 weeks later that I likely was not going to get my car this year. I really needed another car because I was handing my '98 F-150 over to my son for his high school graduation. I had seen the vert at the other dealer. So, I called them up. They still had it on the floor and the rest is history.
I bought some black pony floor mats and stuck the original light colored ones in storage to keep them clean. The new ones actually look pretty good against the light carpet. Plus they match the charcoal dash. That red interior looks awesome with the black. There's gotta be some rubber-neckin' when people see you roll up at a stoplight. How's that red do when the sun shines directly on it? Does it get pretty hot or does it reflect it pretty well? |
