Default Problems Cleaning Rims!

These rims my dad bought for his F250, they were used, laying around in someones garage forever. They are made out of aluminum and have dark black spots all over them. We have just been using some basic wheel cleaners and alot of scrubbing, and most of the stuff has come off, but not all of it. I was wondering if you guys could suggest a kind of cleaner that would be a bit stronger and clean them up a little better. Thanks for all of the help in advance guys.

Zach

"Basic wheel cleaners" isn't very descriptive. Knowing exactly what brands you've tried and how you used them may give some keys to your challenge.

I'd try Eagle One All Wheel & Tire Cleaner a try, and follow the directions. While I don't generally use Eagle One products, this is one I do use.

Are the wheels uncoated... that is no clearcoat or anodizing? If not coated, there are some acid washes available specifically for cleaning aluminium.
