So was on the island today (LBI, nj) where cops kick into dick mode during the summer (j-walking, parking on the wrong side of the road, parking to close to fire hydrgen, stop sign, curb, intersection (even if its by 2 inches)) and my radar detector goes off. I have cruise control set to 35mph exactly. Cant afford a ticket. Well i see this cop coming at me and im with 3 of my buddy's and hes staring at me. All of a sudden he passes and pulls a u turn and FLIES up on me.

Now hes riding my ass for a good mile... in my head im thinking, I didnt do a DAMN thing wrong. Well, flashing lights...

pull over to a side street, wait for the cops to get out. They sit in their car for like 5 minutes.. then come to my window, blah blah. License registration insurance blah blah. Well, i pulled you over for your smoked tailights (pretty sure not illegal), your illegal radar detector (not illegal), not having a rear view mirror, too many kids in the car, and the kid in the back seat not wearing his seatbelt.

Whatever.. went along with it. Cop went back, asked if ih ad clean record, etc. Asked who i got the PBA card, etc.

Ended up with a ticket for no rear view mirror and expired insurance card.

First of all, none of those are a first offense to pull me over to begin with. Second of all, radar detector is not illegal in NJ. Third, friend was 18 hes responsible for his seatbelt in the back seat. Fourth, i turn 18 a week from today. Fith, i dont think not having a rear view mirror is illegal. My box truck doesnt have a rear view mirror and its in the same vehicle class as a regular van.

But, whatever. The stop lasted for 35 minutes, and cops are being dicks for the summer. Im so excited

Seriously, pulled over 3 times the last 4 times i went to the island. Its getting redicilous.

You do have the have the Rear view mirror in anything that came factory with it. Still the cops are so much easier around me because its a little town and I know atleast 85 percent of them haha.

Its because Long Beach Island is a huge vacation spot, and we get hordes of people from new york/north jersey who rent a house for a week and they all drive like assholes and cops make a killer in the summer with tickets. They pull over anyone and everyone they can.

If im not mistaken, you only have to hvae 2 rear view mirrors, so if you had the side mirrors and theyre fine, that ticket was out of line

however im 95% positive that how it is, at least here in Cali, not sure about NJ
