Default 69 Mach 1 Tranny

My dad has a 69 Mach 1 with a FMX tranny which is SHOT! One of my buddies has a c6 out of a 77 Ford Truck that had a 351 in it and my dad also has a 351 in his car. Would this tranny work for his car?

Sure it could work. Any trans could be made to work. By far the easiest thing would be to rebuild the FMX or have the FMX rebuilt. You would probably spend just about as much money to get the C6 in as it would cost to just have the FMX rebuilt. Plus you will save the headaches and all you have is a used c6 in there.

Yes it should, bellhousing would be the same and that tranny was available in 69. Only problem is that the C6 gobs up a lot of power, from what I've heard, not sure how true that is.
