Default Way off topic, Don't SHoot!

Well, I figured since we all talk all of the time anyway, I would ask here was we actually respond to each other.....I want to buy a mountain Bike, and not NOTHING about them. I am 6'3, 250 lbs. I cannot figure out what size or anything. Websites seem to be inconsistant onsizing. I am looking to see if I can find a steal on FleaBay, but it does not help when you are clueless. I want to spend 500 max (maybe get a 1200 to 1500 bike for that). Hey it is related, think of the gas I will save on the Saleen!!!! Seriously, if anyone can help, PM, E-mail or whatever. Don't shoot, andNo responses from Jazzer either...lol

Before this gets moved to "Off-Topic", and certain Mr. Axe will exercise his mad-mod powers to do so, I will chime in. I am nearly 6'2" (6' 1 27/32", but who's counting) and ran a 22" frame. You are gonna need at least that for sure. Keep in mind, that if you have back issues, you STILL want to have handlebars lower so your back arches over bike. I can't believe how many (huhummmm....."thirty-something") riders I see with higher bars that keep their back straight up and down, bad idea [:'(]. This will HURT your back, so just keep that in mind. Been a while since I rode, so not a whole lot else I can offer.

Post this question over in theSchwinn mods section and maybe someone can help with basket up front or low-profile kick-stand [8D]

Go to a local bike shop and try them out, find one you like, then try to find the best deal on that model.

For bikes, I usually recommend Specialized...they make some top notch bikes, and are one of the few independent companies left in that market.

I'm currently looking at a Rockhopper that would set me back about $600, it's got a decent rock shox front suspension, and some upgraded hardware that I like. One of the benefits of buying new is that some shops will offer free lifetime service on the bike, which can come in handy.

Default Gary Fisher

I'd recommend the Gary Fisher "Genesis" series. Great geometry and solidly built.
