1977 mustang cobra (reposted from classic forum)

hey guys. my sister-in-law's husband has a white with red stripes 1977 Mustang Cobra.

I haven't seen it yet, but I will in a couple weeks. they say the interior needs alittle work, and the body needs alittle work but I have a feeling its in pretty good shape. it also has a new transmission, which I think is a 5 speed. they're only asking $3,000 for it if they sell...now is that a bargain or what?? if all goes well I'd love to buy it as I can sell my 2000 v6 for about 5,000 give or take.

I'd love to own and drive a 1970s cobra mustang. I'm only 18 but theres something about 1970s cars and music that I love. I'd trade my newer 'stang for a 70s one any day. theres something about those big old ford engines I love.

today I saw 1970 mustang mach 1 fastback. that thing needed alot of work, but it was awesome. the thing idled like a huge harley davidson set to run so low you could count every explosion, pow pow pow pow pow pow...and a rev like it almost had no mufflers. I was lovin' every second of it! but the work needed on it was too much for me.

anything anyone can tell me about the 1977 cobras? thanks!

You are aware of the fact that a 1970 Fastback looks NOTHING like a 1977 Mustang II?
And I'm curious .... is your sister in laws husband also your brother? LOL?!
The 302's that came in those mid 70'sMustang II's only had about 130HP, so you aren't getting a HP whore unless you do some modifying to get it there....I'm turning about 320HP in mine but I also spent a butt load of $$$ to get her there. But it can be done...

yeah im aware. but the 1970 was too far gone for my kind of money. plus it wasn't really for sell anyway.

well pretty much all I'd put into it is intake, headers, exhaust, and maybe cam. and over a period of time. any other mods you can suggest? thanks! I'd just be happy to drive a '77 cobra anyway.

one last thing, you think it would be realiable enough to just drive as a car to get from point A to point B (I'm 18, you know like school, work, hangout)

I would love to cruise around in that thing.
