Default MACH system issues, what to replace it with?

I have a 2002 Mustang. It has the upgraded Mach system with the 6 disc CD changer in the dash. About 2 weeks ago while driving around town, the CD player stopped working while changing to another disc. Since then, CD error has appeared on the display. The discs will not play, eject, nothing. The CD player does recognize discs are in the player as when I push load, it shows slots full.

I have read this happens with these systems. I have tried disconnecting the battery, but nothing happened. Now the display shows initializing before showing the cd error message.
I cannot open the door to try and get the discs out. So I guess I need to replace the unit? And what about my CD's? BTW-none of them are copied, these are all store bought CD's. I know this is an issue for these units.

So if I need to replace the unit, what will work with this system? I would like to get the new HD radio with CD changer but have not found an in dash unit with a multi disc changer. Anyone know if this exists? I also want one that can play my ipod. So all you tech savy people out there, please help!!!
Oh, and if I haven't asked for enough already, afordable would be good.

I am going crazy without my CD player!

Default RE: MACH system issues, what to replace it with?

the factory cd players have always had handling issues. IF you do a search there was an article written by a member here about how to fix it, but it will break again.

You can put what ever deck you want in there. Most shops will tell you that you have to replace every speaker in the system, don't believe the hype. Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how to integrate into the mach system, we can walk you through it if you have a little bit of experience.

Let us know an idea of budget and features you want an there are a couple of guys on here can find you the best deal and I can help you install it.
