Got an email advertisment for this stuff calledEthos that claims it increases mpg "up to 20%". I think it's more of that E85 corn oil stuff. Any y'all heard of it?

If MF were a Disney movie, I'd be the retarded step-brother who eventually saves everyone by hitting the burgular over the head with a frying pan and then clapping my hands all retarded-like.
Generally any little gadget (turbonator..[&:]) or additive for your gas tank is going to be a scam, plain and simple. It's just a lot easier to sell these scams nowadays because everyone is in the same boat as far as gas prices go, so people are willing to try anything. If they worked, why aren't these people millionaires? Why doesn't everyone have one? Why aren't all production cars released with this new little doohicky?
Ethanol destroys engines from what i'm told, as well. Cars weren't meant to burn corn. Within the next 10 years it's rumored that cars that have been running on this "gasahol" abomination are going to have critical problems directly tied to this fuel. Could be entirely false, but it's what has been floating around my area.
The over-harvesting of the crops necessary to produce Ethanol are also harming third world countries that need these crops to survive. The prices are skyrocketing because we need them for energy, making them entirely too expensive to these countries we're taking from.
Sorry, I go a little overboard when it comes to the energy crisis, haha.
from what I understand, ethanol burns twice as fast as unleaded gasoline. I don't know how that'd help with mpg's....you'd probably need a different type of motor that was made to handle burning ethanol. In theory it makes sense because it burns cleaner and is generally renewable, aside from corn being harsh on soil. I don't think we'll move to a new resource until we've used up every bit of our petroleum. That's why everyone needs to travel in tubes like the canisters at the bank...
crop rotation is a wonderful thing.... corn, rice, swtich grass....all very good sources of ethanol, but it takes 151% more ethanol to produce the amount of energy 1 gal of gas holds.

ok so use ethonal to save a couple of gallons on gas. but while you use all that corn your gonna pay for it at the store. corn id in every thing high demand on corn for ethonal means corn prices up which means farmers pay more to feed their animals which means your food prices go up. and ethonal puts out twice as much smog polution the gas. talk about a scam
Dahhh.. I had this nice big ranting post on the ethanol crap up here and it's gone.. [>:] Now I'm too lazy to type it all out again.. ehhh.. I still say Al Gore and Greenpeace can kiss my ass.. I want my gas dammit!
