Cat,

Congrats on the purchase, what color did you get? I bought mine in August of 2004 and I really like it, I got the torch red. I put on a Bassani cat back system and I really like the sound. Last Friday I picked up a BBK x-pipe but it really didn't sound good when the engine was under load at RPM's above 2700. It sounded like marbles or rocks where in the exhaust. Are you looking at getting just a cat back system or replacing the whole exhaust?

Have fun!

You might want to look at a CAI (Cold Air Intake) I have the K&N FIPK II, very easy to install and it gives around 30 more horses. It's a nice power increase for under $200.00.

Talk to you later.

Sincerely,

Jeff

SLP, SLP, SLP

I saw an 04 cobra go from 369hp stock to 419hp just from changing the cat back to SLP, and it sounded awesome. I would never had believed him if he told me he gained 50horses from changing the cat back alone, but I saw it with my own eyes. These cars are amazing when you let them breath a little.

I really didn't like the sound of my 04 cobra when I first got it. Two weeks later I installed SLP exhaust and I love it. When I get the money i'll probably get SLP headers and x-pipes w/ cats. SLP all the way. Great sound.

I have a UPR X pipe and flowmaster muffers. It is very loud but a little raspy. I might switch to a Magnaflow catback soon. The car sounds great with any exhaust.

so many choices, so many peeps with different set-ups.
I use Magnaflow 3" full exhaust.
I get tons of compliments on the sound. Even by local sherriffs. Plus my car runs real nice. I have never seen a rise in my temp guage.

Welcome to the world of never ending modification..

I suggest Bassani from stock manifold to tail .. Spend the extra bucks and get stainless..

Don't spend the money for headers.. They are more of a pain then they are worth IMO.

I've got the magnaflow catback and a bassani o/r x-pipe and it sounds amazing. Really deep tone at idle, sounds mean just cruising, and the sound at wot is just awsome! Some think the x-pipes are a little raspy, I think this combo sounds great. I suggest actually hearing some cars in person before deciding. Or at least search for some videos to get a decent idea of the sound.
