On my 08 GT, the headlights turn on when I press the unlock button on my key fob. I was wondering if anyone has wired it to turn on the fogs instead of the headlights? It doesnt seem like it would be that hard to do, but I dont want to start cutting wires if I will run into unforseen problems.
I dont have HIDs right now, but that is the reason I wanted it to turn the fog lights on instead of the headlights. I wouldnt want to wear out a pair of HIDs in a couple of months from unlocking the car.
I have HIDs, and i use an aftermarket alarm to unlock the door.. but how does the hids wear out if u use the factory fob. Just wondering. Also the gt500 hid models use the fog lights to come on when u unlock the car.
Note HID lights use less power then factory lights. only 30watts.

Maybe an expert can chime in, but I was under the impression that hot restrikes are bad for HIDs. I tried a set of HIDs from ebay and when I would unlock my car, the headlights (HIDs) would turn on and then before I started the car, they would turn off again. Then if it was nighttime, I would have to turn them on again (hot restrike). I was scared I was going to burn the bulbs out in a couple of months having to light them 4 times a day.

There will be problems. The SJB controlls all lighting functions.
Its not as easy as cutting wires.
I have a 06, and only my interior lights come on...I have the factory keyless entry/alarm. Is this something that has changed since 06, or is there a way to turn the option on/off on my Keyless?
It sounds like you're describing the "perimeter lighting feature." The owner's manual has a procedure to disable it under the "Locks and Security" section. (I'd just copy and paste the section but the little icons won't show up which makes it even more confusing than it is.)
I also have the HID lights and my fog lights come on instead as well. It's looking like they did that on purpose.
