Default cheap head unit, no bass pass side

Ok so my problem : the 6 CD changer in my 03 GT went out awhile ago so i replaced it with a cheapo walmart head unit (50$)... im not hugely into listnen to music at the highest possible levels, i just wanted the option to play a CD every now and then when im cruisen...

but i noticed when i was messing with the balance levels the other day that when i turn it so only the passenger side speakers are on, that it has NO bass to it?? butwhen i turn it all the way to the driver side, its got the normal amount of bass...

the head unit is a VR3 somethin like this one:

Was it the same way when you had the factory unit in?

a common mistake is that people do not connect the remote turn on from the deck(blue/white or blue) to the amp turn on(blue) in the factory hrns so the factory subs do not turn on.

As for only one side playing I would tell you to check your connections to see if anything has become loose or could have shorted.
