Default A question for the Magnaflow rep.

I have the cat back system 15883 for my 06 Mustang GT.

Are the mufflers bent differently on these to fit the pipes on the cat back?
(meaning other axle back mufflers will not fit on them because the stock pipe was replaced?)

Someone in a thread told me they were and he said he was told this from a Magnaflow rep, but I was told from someone at Magnaflow before I bought them that if I ever decided to change mufflers another brand would fit (axle back)!

I am VERY upset about this and if this is true I would like to return them and get my money back.
I just bought them this week!

The reason I purchased them was that I was told I could do this on the phone from a magnaflow personand got a good price from my dealer
and I was told it would increase HP a bit so for the price I did it since I could replace the mufflers later if I wanted louder sound)
What can I do now? I cannot get a mid pipe or anything because I have to keep my cats plus it would cost me a WHOLE LOT more.

I REALLY need some help. It seems I was given false info on the phone from the company before I purchased the system.

Thanks

Default RE: A question for the Magnaflow rep.

The inlet pipes to the mufflers are bent differently on the cat-back then on the axle-back. Our cat-back systems are built from the ground up and not to OEM specs. I doubt anyone here would have told you that a competitor’s axle-back would fit perfectly with our front extension pipes. From all the correspondence we’ve had in the last week I’m under the impression our system is not loud enough for you, and you’re not giving the mufflers time to break in. Sound is subjective so we can not warranty for it. If you are unhappy with the system you can contact the dealer you purchased the system from to see if they are willing to give you a refund.

This link shows you asking the same question about changing mufflers.

Default RE: A question for the Magnaflow rep.

I realize that sound is not warrantied. There is no way I would expect that.
But I was told by both my dealer that I could fit other mufflers on at a different time with the cat back pipes and was told on the phone from a Magnaflow rep that I could use other brands mufflers if I decided to switch at a later time.

That is why I went with Cat back instead of axle-back! Because I got a good price on the cat-back and thought that it would be worth it if I could always change out the muffler at a later time.
It's almost like condemning yourself to a certain brand forever.

I am not bad mouthing anyone but I WAS told by Magnaflow that I could do this.
Now I am finding out the opposite.

Is there nothing you will do to help me in this matter?

I apologize but this site is still kind of glitchy and kept giving me and error when I tried to reply to your question.

Magnaflow being a manufacturer does not sell direct but you can use our dealer locator or contact any one of the online retailers listed in the link below for pricing and availability. If you have any additional questions please give us a call. Thank you for your interest in Magnaflow Performance Exhaust.

The axleback portion of the magnapacks will fit the stock h-pipe, but you will have to force it. Fitment will also be an issue.
