Any help is appreciated.
yeah me too!!!! stroke it and supercharge or turbo it and all supporting mods and suspension and 15k later with a good tune you'll have a reliable 500hp car
You could prolly get 500hp out of a built to the hilt n/a 346, but I dunno about being a driver on pump fuel. A 408 would definately get you there n/a in a pump fuel drivable package. Otherwise, blower....preferably turbo

Best run 13.23 at 106.97mph with a 2.183 60' Times from before tune and driver mod.

Yea, don't we all Like posted above. There are so many different setups you can go with to obtain 500hp. Are you asking "how" in general or are you looking for some kind of specific setup? What do YOU want. NA? turbo? sc? nitrous? small block? etc.
yeh i would watch it tho pushin 500hp on a stock block...id pass on that thats just me tho.IMO If u got the 302, do up your motor get a nice set of cylnder heads, ford fcam is aight,do the stroker kit make it a 337 or 347 w.e it ends up being, and thro sum nos in that bitch ansd youll be lookin pretty good close to 500. idno how u feel about nos but my buddy had a 302 not stroked or anythin wit edelbrock heads and fcam and nos and ran 11.7 im guessin he had about 3 and cahnge for horse but 11.7 in the quarter is a fast car so if you did the stroker kit wit nos youd be lookin pretty good!
Read more and come up with a plan thats fits your budget.

Yea, 25% for parts & accessories you just didnt think you would need to buy. Than add ANOTHER 25% to that for supporting mods. Your stock 5.0 body, transmission, rearend, etc. wouldnt hold up too well with a motor belting out 500hp.
500hp on a 302... hhmmm is and isn't easy to come by. it's all about the $$$$$. if you are willing to change blocks, bottom ends, the whole 9. There are guys out our local track with 5.70 cars with 306's-308's with large amounts of n20 pushing well over 600hp. But you say you dont want n20. I've been around n20 pretty much since i started learning cars, and thanks to the shop i used to hang out at- it's all i like.
But as for just a plain jane 302 (what yr 302) if its a '90-'91 you're good,... forged internals. A nice set of heads , aluminum w/ a nice CC and port job, a good intake also ported, some valve work, a custom cam (fits your motor, and makes all around hp/tq), some nice rr's, springs, lockers, and retainers. A ingnition system w/ distributor, full exhaust, throttle body, injectors, fuel pump, and some acc's deletion + E fan to free up some hp.... then maybe whatever PA you decide should fill that 500hp need nicely. PT67mm- 10lbs..... the turbo is good for up to 750hp (i think) incase you wanted go faster in the future. just check into www.turbomustangs.com they have all types of set ups and companies on there. Speed cost Money.... How Fast do you wanna go????
(n20, 3.73''s, World heads, Custom cam, Ported u/l''r Power Products intake, BBK stuff, ARP parts, QA1 susp., Moser axles, MSD diggy 6, E-fan, EFI, Built PA C4)... there''s more- trust me
upgraded block, with a mild hci (custom cam!!!!) and a 7-8# of boost through a turbo should do it. but you'll have to do susp. and trans/ rearend /fuel.... it get's pricey

if it were me i would get some gt40's a holley intake a custom cam and then head straight to quicktimeturbos for a turbo kit. you should be close be at 450 to the wheels and be very reliable
