Got a buddy getting a pair for his F-150. I am sitting on a pair of 13Ov2's as it is so I shouldn't be getting any of these.

Shouldn't

lol whats funny is yesterday right after i made this post, i clicked a link taking me to ED's 8inchers and i noticed the name was 9kv or something like that, and i thought about subtracting 1 from all the other names of their subs too, what a coincidence

My 13Ov.2's are doing UNREAL things in my trunk, sealed in 2 cubes.  I have no issues hearing bass with the top down.

Seight- I am REALLY trying to restrain myself from buying some!!  Are you going to the meet?  I'll be there!

This sounds like a great deal, but can anyone put the specs on this sub into plain english?  I always get confused when I try to look at the ED stuff.

Specifically, I have a MTX 600 watt mono amp.  Can it be used to power this sub effectively?

600 watts @ ???

And what do you mean in english? What do you see that you don''t understand? Or what are you looking for within the specs?

For example, what does dual 4 voice coils mean?  Does that mean there is a separate channel for each voice coil that needs to be powered?

exactly.  A DVC sub will give more wiring options but both coils MUST be wired.

So I have this amp:  http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15169

Which is:  300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)

Would this amp work with this sub?

If you plan to power a pair of them, wiring it at 4 ohm, you will be doing around 150 watts per subwoofer.

You could also get just one of them, but then you are talking 600 watts to one of them, with being a novice if you do this you need to exercise restraint with the gain knob.

Most importantly what kind of enclosure do you plan to this (these) subwoofer(s) in?

Was planning on running just one of them in this enclosure:

You think this will work?
