i still cant figure this $h!t out!! ... sometimes at idle it'll read at 14 volts but when i romp on the throttle itll drop down to 11 - 12 volts and studder on me, ive been having starter soilinoid problems and have a new one in right now but sometimes i cant start my car when i have my foot on the brake.(no power to the starter) as soon as i take my foot off the brake it turns right over. WTF?
im also curiouse if anyone knows which wires go to the starter soilinoid. i have about 5 wires on the + side and the starter wire only on the - side.... anyone know what these wires on the + side go to?... i think i might have on out of place.
I was going to say it sounds like you have an internal voltage regulator malfuction at the begining of your post but by the time I got to the end it soulds like you may have some major ground issues.

if you put your foot on the brake and it won't start and it will with it off then you have a bad connection or faulty ground somewhere..if you have terminal repair ends.....throw them away and do yourself a favor and get complete molded cables with preattached ends..and make sure all ground connections are free of corossion

yeah, sounds like a loose connection from one of the alt wires.
As far as the starter goes. Start of first by having a friend run a wire from the - side of the battery to one of the bolts on the starter. The push in the brakes & try starting. Let us know how that goes. If it works, either you have a bad engine ground (which could be why the alternator jumps when at wot), or the starter/trans isn't grounded well due to dirt getting built up where the surfaces meet.
If that's not the case then your battery might not be getting charged during most of the driving. Let us know the results of above, if that doesn't fix it we'll work with the alt wires, I'll tell you where they need to go.
& like mjr said, check your terminals & grounds for corrosion.
