Screw all that think with your heart B.S.   Think with your head and your wallet.  Nobody forces cigarettes, snuff, dip, cigars down peoples gullets.  They are making that decision for themselves.
And there is no way in hell 'big tobacco' is going out of business. Uncle Sugar needs the revenue too much.

Don't get all knotted up and verklempt about some great, non-existant moral dilemma.

If it looks like a good gig then go for it.  Gain the experience they have to offer, take their money and raid the office supply cabinet for everything it's worth on your way out the door.

im curious how you oppose his statement?  only thing i could come up with is that you think big tobacco is shoving things into peoples faces and MAKING them buy & use their product.

Think with your wallet.   -   There's a lot more in life besides money.

Non-existant moral delimma - You don't see that this can create a moral delema for some people?  Are you really that blind?   Would you also take money for dumping toxic waste in the wet lands?

Raid the office supply cabinet -  Now you're advocating theivery against the people who privide a job, a paycheck, and experiance.

You're a piece of work.

I live in KY, a big smoking state and I would say its safe to say some people would sell their home and cars before they'd stop smoking.  So I say go for it, tobacco is not going anywhere. BTW I am a non-smoker. That is such a disgusting, rude habit.

.Bob, you for one are one of those touchy-feely bleeding heart liberal hippie a$$clowns that make everything so damned difficult to accomplish in this country with all of your whining about hurting people and their "feelings"..

Know what? I grew up in the late 70's and early 80's.. want to know what we did? We stayed outside past dark.. We blew things up just because it was funny to see Gi Joes flying up in the air in pieces.. We played OUTSIDE in all the smog and oh so completely horrible things that are being done to the atmosphere.. We lived in houses painted with paint that had lead in it, yet we still maintained our health.. We got into fist fights with bullies and nobody got arrested and sent to jail for the next 50 years, our parents punished us when we were stupid and didn't have to worry about anybody calling CPS..

Point being, pussies like you make the world a weaker place and quite assuredly are the number one reason why I lose faith in humanities ability to survive, one person at a time. If the OP thinks working for Big Tobacco would be a good gig and a way to support himself, why NOT go for it? Do PC phucksticks like you even know what it's like to have a college degree and not be able to find a job? Probably not, hence you have no basis for the "oh lets all just sing kumbayah" bullsh!t you spout.. Nobody forces anybody to smoke, dip, chew, or do anything else of the sort.

Case in point, I dip copenhagen, have for the last 10yrs or so ever since I joined the military. Did anybody force me to do that? NO. Do people think it's gross? Yes, do I look like I care? Is it bad for me? Yes, and being a micro-biology major I know quite well EXACTLY what it's doing. Should I quit? Probably, but you know what, it's a choice I made. A college kid just trying to get ahead in life by supporting himself and his family (if he has any..) is in NO way influencing my decision to buy a can of copenhagen when I feel like it. I'm a grown man and I make my own decisions, how I see fit..

So long story short, do us all a favor and go back to the rainbow coalition funded, Greenpeace thinktank you came out of, and GTFO. That is unless, God forbid, you actually accept that people make their own choices in life.. *gasp* what, you mean you didn't know that people already knew smoking was bad and just want you and all your kind to shut the phuck up and stop meddling in their business so they can actually LIVE life??

Oh the horror, how sad for you..

eh skipped over the cabinet part.  that part yea is out there but anymore the job market is pretty cut throat survival of the fitest kind of way.

when i took my first job out of college i narrowed it to the jobs i knew id like then went with the one paying the Vs cost of living in that area.  whats wrong with thinking about your wallet?  yes theres more to life then money, but without money theres very little life.  you can be happy without money but you cannot do much without it.

the moral dilema is a personal opinion kind of thing.  for some people its a dilema for some its not.  also the dumping waste in the wet lands is a very bad arguement.  that affects millions of people, smoking not so much.  you walk outside and through a major city and you breathe in just as much bad stuff as a person does in a cig id guess.  Especially when theres days you cant even see a mile ahead because of the smog.

you work in a factory you are going to breathe in worse things between the chemicals used and the byproducts.  ever welded? done construction? hope you wore a mask.

again the office supply deal i do agree with due to having skimmed over it and not actually reading it whole heartedly.

im done though, just thought id chime back in since you called me a peice of work.

Nope, wrong again.  Redneck conservative to the core.  If you think working for a tobacco company is wrong, don't do it regardless of what they pay.  If you don't have a problem with it, then go for it.

I don't give a damn what other people think, and neither should you.  Do what you know is right, don't sell your soul for a buck.

I would work for satin himself if the pay and benifits were good. Don't be silly you take a job for the paycheck. as long as the company is not doing anything illegal why would you care. Bottom line tobacco companies make and sell a legal product people want.

big tobacco is involved in plenty of illegal activities.   probably not much worse than a crooked used car dealer, or the lawyers that bring frivolous lawsuits to court.
