Default Alarm Electronics Problems???....

Don't know if you guys work with alarm electronics or not, but I figured it was worth a shot...

I had Best Buy install a Viper alarm system on my 04 Mustang. At first the alarm triggered every 30 minutes (exactly 30 mins) by the doorsensors. We re-routed the door sensors to theoverhead dome light and now the alarm goesoff every 30 minutes from the trunk sensors.

The Viper alarm is tied into my factoryalarm. From my research I beleive the factory alarm goes into sleep mode (at 30 minutes in my case) and indrops its sensors from 12v to Ground. This in turn is setting my alarm off as it thinks the sensor has been triggered.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this problem. Best Buy seems to believe that the Viper alarm has to be tied into the factory alarm so Idon't know that we can just separate the two.

You need to diode isolate the door triggers from the alarm. The bcm sends a signal to make sure the car is locked every 30 mins. thats why your alarm keeps going off. I did the same thing in my 07...so let me know if you need any more help

but he re-routed from the door sensors to the dome light control....does that make any difference. After this the alarm stopped triggering from the doors and then started triggering from the trunk.

So do we need to diode isolate trunk sensor?

yes you do. And by the way, BEST BUY couldn't install a tail light bulb correctly to save their lives!
