Why do the GT500's not come with at least 3.55 gears like the GT'S?

I forgot to add that to my list of surprises....I too am surprised....maybe it was to save on tire wear....

...you would really tear them up with 3.55, 3.73 or 4.10....can you imagine.....1st and 2nd would be non existent...LOL...anyway< I do agree with your concern and quandry as well
