Default Stock Rockers

The stock ratio for H.O.'s are 1.6 correct?? Does anyone know if the crown vics, 5.0 thunderbirds, Lincolns and any other 5.0 of the time frame have 1.6's or are they 1.5's? I am just trying to see if I might be able to find a cheap set of 1.6's from the junkyard. I know I would be better off buying a set of roller rockers but that can't happen on my limited budget at the moment.

ALL 302/5.0/351w's had 1.6 rockers except the 93 cobras which used a crane pedestal mount 1.7 roller rocker

Yea I know they do. Hell with the cam that is in my motor I need 1.7's just to reach/exceed the stock lift of a H.O. cam. It is the cam that came in the motor when I bought it. I just found out my lift specs last night. Don't have a clue on the rest of the specs or the brand.
I .381
E .412
with 1.5's I have now. I just wanted something cheap to make my car run better than what I have now with junkyard parts until I install my other heads and get a new cam.

why would you have 1.5's on it now? that makes no sense. again, ALL stock ford rockers are at least 1.6

There arefew people who use the 1.5:1(Chevy) rockers. Usually onbig HP engines. They are used to keep optimal rocker geometry in conjunction with coil bind specs and camdimentions.

I couldn't tell you why it has 1.5's on it. Thats how the motor came when I got my hands on it. It has a low lift cam, low compression 1978 heads, 1.5 rockers, and its a non roller 306 block. It came out of a bronco that was used to go mudding. I am suprised that it runs as well as it does for what it is. It may not seem like much but I kept up with a friends Lightning a couple of weeks ago on a rolling start from 15 to about 80 till a hill came along then I got over so traffic wouldn't surprise me.

BUT when I throw on my ported GT40 heads and a Eddy performer plus cam to go with my intake and carb it will be a beast in my stripped hatch.

The stock rockers are actually 1.59 if you want to be exact, but it doean't make that much of a difference.

Well, if you want to be exact some of them probably are not even that with the flex that happens in the stock setup but still stock 1.6's are better than the 1.5's I have now.
