Default Relocating Windshield Washer Nozzles

I've got an aluminum hood on the way that already has holes drilled for the washer nozzles. Since I have to paint the hood anyway, I thought now might be a good time to relocate the washer nozzles using that CDC relocation kit. My question, for those who have any experience with this, is two-fold:

(1) Do these relocated washer nozzles still function well?

(2)What exactly is involved in filling the original holes on an aluminum hood? How much labor are we talking about here? Remember, I am already getting the hood painted, so I am only interested in knowing the labor it would require to fill the holes and prep them for paint.

Default RE: Relocating Windshield Washer Nozzles

1. Yes they perform as well as the OEMs if not better.

2. They would have to be welded up to be done properly.
Welding aluminum requires pre-heating that I dont
think the hood surface is going to like that seeing how its
so thin. It might buckle if not done right. Plastic filler
(bondo) is not the way to do it and neither is JB Weld.
So a professional aluminum welder (not cousin bob)
will have to be employed to do the job. Maybe you
should be thinking about a new hood without the
washer nozzle loations pre-drilled. It might be cheaper
and better in the long run.

A CDC hood scoop would COVER those squirter nozzle holes.

That was the answer I was afraid of...Sounds like I'll just have to deal with the washer nozzles, since the hood is already ordered.
