any body here know what i should look for with a bad catalytic? ill start my car it runs perfect, idle acceleration everything. as the car gets closer to normal operating temp it start to run rough. then shortly after it get to running temp it shuts off. i try to start it and it wont, it struggles and never turns over. i get a pop out of the tail pipe a little. but ifit sits for a bit and cools, it turns right over. until its warm again. is this the cats. also is there a way to find which one is bad or should they all be replaced if this is the problem.

it could be a number of things, it don't sound like your cats, it could be the oxygen sensors, to check them just unplug them and see if your car runs, also, do you have a check engine light on? it also could be the mass air flow sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve, but it don't sound like the cats are bad
well i recently replaced the engine with an 03 engine, mines a 01. the only thing that hasent been changed is the o2 sensors, cats, and some sensor that is attached to the tube that connects the egr valve to the header. what is that sensor by the way? its got a new fuel pump and filter. imat a loss again. i fix one thing and then something else goes wrong.
i'm pretty suer the sensor you are asking about is the dpfe sensor, i really don't thint it would cause the problem, i don't even have my egr hooked up on mine and it runs fine, i'm still leaning toward it being your o2 sonsors
well problem fixed. some how the screws that hold the fual pump housing together came loose and the pump was just floating around in the tank. put it all back together and runs great. does anyone know if locktight will work in gasoline?
