View Full Version : Chicane Pulley
00 425 SALEEN 05-16-2008, 10:13 PM So I just got my Chicane pulley for my '00. Easy to install? Special tools? Or should I avoid the headache and
have a shop guy install it? How much do you guys think it would cost?
I'm in SoCal.
Thanks.
eviligloo 05-18-2008, 02:34 PM The pulley itself shouldn't be that hard to install. You do need to get a custom tune to make sure you're running a safe air/fuel ratio.
Did you upgrade your fuel pump? If not....go buy that before installing the pulley.
00 425 SALEEN 05-19-2008, 01:07 PM Thanks Evil,
No, I haven't bought a fuel pump yet. Will a 255lph work good?
I guess I'll wait to install the pulley, fuel pump, and tune all in one visit to the shop.
eviligloo 05-19-2008, 02:39 PM Yeah....the 255 should work well. I'm running the SVT focus pump which is a little less than that.
Do all of the install at the same time. Actually....if you have anything else you want to do that affects the tune (MAF, CAI, etc), save it all up and do it at the same time. It'll save you money to do it together.
00 425 SALEEN 05-20-2008, 01:27 PM Cool thanks,
I have a bunch of goods coming:
MGW shifter
3.73 gears
Pro chamber H-pipe
UPS just dropped off my Demolet CAI, Chicane pulley and NGK plugs.
I'm looking on ebay for that fuel pump, Accufab T.B, 90mm mass air and SCT tuner.
BTW I noticed in your sig you have NGK plugs too. What did you gap them at?
Thanks again.
eviligloo 05-20-2008, 02:06 PM Not sure what the plugs are gapped at. I didn't install/tune it....I left that to the experts!
I'm doing a couple of similar mods to what you're doing. I'm currently in search of a 75mm throttle body and a diablosport MAFia (as opposed to the 90mm mass air).
You interested in getting together to try and get a group buy going?
I priced out the BBK throttle body and I've got a good price on that. I'm going to be ordering everything soon...how about you?
00 425 SALEEN 05-20-2008, 07:15 PM Ya I'd be interested in the group buy.
I just found a focus fuel pump, so that's one item off the list.
So I just need a 75mm T.B, 90mm MAF, maybe 30 or 42# injectors, LFP intecooler and tank, and a tune.:D
eviligloo 05-21-2008, 07:21 AM WIth the mods you're planning I think you'll need 42lb injectors. Those are on my list for the future.
I'm also going to try and get some people together for a group buy on the the chicane intercooler next spring. Good product!
00 425 SALEEN 05-21-2008, 07:13 PM I was thinking of trying the LFP intercooler.

Anybody have one of these? Look pretty good and more reasonable price.

That's the LFP heat exchanger. At least one member on here has it. Actually....LFP used Hollywood03's car to help design it. It's different than the chicane intercooler upgrade.

I've heard a little about it but I haven't seen any #s on what people gained with it. Right now the engine sucks in a lot of hot air because the intercooler has large gaps in it. The chicane intercooler eliminates those gaps and makes sure the engine gives cooler air....so I was thinkingof taking care of that first and then doing this one down the line.
Then again....I don't see this listed on their main website anymore. I wonder if they're discontinuing it. I sent them an email....
Hollywood03 05-22-2008, 11:27 AM When I installed the LFP H/E and supertank my intake temps dropped about 10 degrees after the Chicane intercooler theydropped another 30.I think the LFP stuff would work good on your cars the serries I & II blowers produce more heat than the serries IV on my car.Any temp decrease will add H.P. and they look good too.

Good info! Thanks for chiming in...
Hey hollywood....did LFP do your install for you or did you do it yourself? How hard was it to do? I'm assuming you did the tank and heat exchanger at the same time?
