Should have sanded after blasting
 

Painted my engine bay using Eastwood Underhood - Looks good but metal was roughed up from sandblasting - thout it would smooth out when painting but finish is rough. Should I spray it on thicker or just forget about. No way am I'm going to take down to metal again. Looks okay since it satin anway.

Looks great from that pic! I wouldn't go to thick on the paint though if you do try to smooth it out.

I primed mine after I blasted then I blocked it with 220. I did my body work then primed again, block sanded with 400 then used sanding sealer and then pain. As stated above yours looks pretty good from the picks but if you are concerned i would block it with 400 and use a good sealer then paint.

You could try to wet sand it to smooth it out and then re paint. Just don't sand through to metal.

I guess my only concern would be that it would catch dust easier. Probably just stressing over the little stuff.

Looks great to me as well, smooth is not always better.:D well unless it is the exterior

Sandblasting will etch the metal so yeah you should have used 220/240 to sand it afterwards. Then primed, sanded with 400 and then painted. The pics makes it look great but if your not happy with it sand it with anything from 240 to 400 and then repaint.

We're going for a nice clean look with nothing on the sides but not a smooth finish. Instead going for a nice textured look. I just wet sand blasted using a cold water pressure washer and I sanded it afterwards with 240 before priming simply to smooth it out a bit from the sand etching.
