Default Dealer refused to fix my fuel pump TSB???!?!?!?!?

so my car is in the shop for another round of repairs. this is still from when i got rear ended a year and a half ago, they botched the first round so horribly that i need to get the whole thing redone. anyway, while the car was in the shop, i decided to have all the neccessary TSB's taken care of. the passenger airbag, the door handles, and the fuel pump thing. guy calls me today to tell me the car is done, i asked if everything's been taken care of. first, i ask if they made sure the exhaust tips were aligned (a section of the exhaust was being replaced). the guy was like "uh durr" and i had to take like 3 minutes to explain what i meant, not that hard of a concept. he was like uh, whatever, they just put it back to how it was. "so they're aligned?"........."uh, i guess" so if that's not fixed when i pick up the car tommorow, i'm going to sucker punch the guy.

then, i asked if the fuel pump TSB had been addressed. the ****er starts going into bull**** about how when they hooked up a tuner to my car, it said "data corrupted" and they couldn't do a diagnosis, and so i explained to him what the TSB was. 3 times. he's then like "the car's been modified, your warranty won't cover it." i then explained to him the magnuson-moss act. and also, the fact that this was an issue addressed by ford. even if my car's computer was ****ed up, it wouldn't matter. fix the fuel pump issue the standard way. then he's like "the car's been modified, your warranty has been voided, we won't do it." so i started getting really, REALLY pissed off at this pee-on and i'm yelling at him, explaining the **** over and over again.

they won't fix the fuel pump TSB because my car has an intake, and an axleback exhaust. the guy hung up on me. i'm going there tommorow morning. there will be blood.

doesnt sound like they know what they are talking about. sounds like they are using the old 'modded so you get no warranty' excuse. you may have to go over his head and talk to someone who know something about warranty's.
hope you get it worked out.

My dealer didn't want to fix mine. Well they did but they wanted to charge me over $400. All I had was my K&N, no tune or any thing else. The guy said they had to order a pump different than what the TSB called for for some reason. BAH I told them. AND the guy didn't know anything about this TSB. I had to print the damn thing out and hand it to him. The guy I had was a rude ass anyway and the argument got a little heated, but not as bad as with your guy. Damn that's f**ked up!

Seriously dude, go talk to the service manager or who ever is over his head and tell him how you were treated and how you got hung up on. That's BS.

I agree wit SirKnight - ask for the Service Manager - be polite but forceful in your request/expalnation. dont get heated untill there is no chance that the guy will budge. I've found over my 20 years of adult life this method seems to work more often. my .02

I assume this is the same dealer that f'd you with the body shop...god I hate those guys. I need to take my car in for the passenger airbag recall too and the Fuel Pump. I'm spending a lot of time on the highway and this pump is pissing me off. I get off the highway and the car feels like it's gonna have a seizure, or right after a toll sometimes while six cars are about to run up my ass at 60mph...

I think I'm gonna try Sawgrass, last time I was there they seemed to have an IQ "slightly above the line of metal ritardation."

AmericanMuscle: You did'nt mention this, but does you car have verifiable symptoms that can be addressed by the TSBs. If so than an intake or exhaust should not matter for coverage. I'm sure you realize that the air bag concern is a FSA and must be performed while the door handles and fuel pump are TSBs and if the dealer cannot verify the concern they will give you some resistance over doing the repairs.
