i have a 87 gt and i know that supposedly they come with 230hp

whats the max hp these engins and trans can take im pretty sure ill blow my trans at 500 hp
but im not going that hi im liking of a supercharger and sum bolt ons but i dont want to detonate anything i need reliability

so over all whats the max hp i can slap on with out blowing things up??

supposed to be 225 engine horse power, the 87 -92's are the best cause they have forged pistons and E7's where 86's have e6's and flat top pistons. Personally I would buy a 89-92 engine with wiring harness and computer that way you have mass air

the 89 and 92 have the same hp as the 87 ....and most ppowerful engine is the 93 cobra

now that i kno the engine choice i have isnt what i want i am not motor swaping unles its mandatory

i read here that the fastest fox body next to the cobra is the 87-88 coupes. but they're speed density, not mass air, so future mods aren't going to go down as smooth.

but that link breaks down the progression of the mustangs over those years. from the factory they lose power here and there over the years. i think it drops from 225hp in 87 to 205hp in 93. well, just read through that link. pretty informative.

i know i have much torq
actually more than i have hp can i surpass(decrease) my torq by modifying something

^^^^^yeah get rid of the Speed density and do a maf conversion and put in a dual pattern cam, good heads and intake, gears, exhaust....ect, ect....the list never ends
